NEW MEXICO URANIUM MINES

Development and Exploration

This is a list of conventional uranium mine development and exploration activities. Some of these projects may be part of or become in-situ leach (ISL) uranium recovery operations, also referred to as in situ recovery (ISR). In New Mexico ISLs are regulated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. There are currently no operating uranium mines in New Mexico. There is exploratory drilling activity and plans to develop mines at old mine sites and proven ore bodies. At this time, there is no operating uranium mill in New Mexico to process the ore.
