NRC URANIUM RECOVERY APPLICATION WORKSHOP
NOVEMBER 17 - 18, 2009
DENVER, COLORADO
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a workshop in Denver, Colorado, on November 17 to 18, 2009, to discuss health physics and application issues related to in situ leach (ISL) uranium recovery applications and operations. The workshop was attended mainly by representatives of regulatory agencies and the uranium industry.
Below are links to the two power point presentations (PDF files), NRC meeting summary of the workshop, and lists of workshop participants. The meeting summary list some follow up actions by the NRC.
Also, below are audio recordings of the presentations and discussions as MP3 files. Most of the workshop was recorded. It is helpful to listen to the audio in conjuntion with the power points. The power points stand on their own as sources of information regarding the current issues pertinent to ISL uranium recovery applications, operations, and health physics and radiological issues.
In the presentations, NRC staff refers to various sections of the Standard Review Plan for In Situ Leach Uranium Extraction License Applications (NUREG-1569).
