WHITE MESA MILL LICENSE RENEWAL

Denison Mines (USA) Corporation (Denison) submitted a License Renewal Application to the Utah Divison of Radiation Control (DRC) in 2007. Over the next 4 years, Denison submitted additional information in response to the DRC requests for additional information (RAIs).

On October 14, 2011, the DRC noticed an opportunity to comment on the License Renewal and made the draft License and Safety Evaluation Report available. The comment period was extended to December 21, 2011. Various entities submitted comments on the License Renewal, including the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, Uranium Watch (with Living Rivers, Sierra Club, Grand Canyon Trust, and Center for Biological Diversity), and Sheep Mountain Alliance (with Colorado Environmental Coalition, Information Network for Responsible Mining, Rocky Mountain Wild, and Center for Biological Diversity).
